Development
VP Development oversees all financial aspects of Tech Beautification Day. The VP must coordinate all campus and community fundraising efforts, prepare an itemized budget for the year, process receipts and reimbursements for all money spent, and approve all expenditures of the organization. VP Development will oversee the Directors of Finance, Fundraising, and Expansion.
The Director of Finance is responsible for the keeping of all money related to Tech Beautification Day. With the VP Development, he/she will prepare and maintain our budget, and record all expenses and revenues.
The Director of Fundraising will have two semesters of fundraising to complete. In the fall, the focus will be on capturing corporate sponsors to gather support and donations from local businesses. However, in the spring, The Director of Fundraising will be working to secure funds from on-campus sources for our event, such as the Alumni Foundation and SGA. Knowledge of campus budget cycles and previous fundraising experience would be helpful for this position.
We are looking to expand the idea of TBD to other college campus, and therefore the Director of Expansion will be responsible for creating and maintaining contacts on other college campuses and relaying resources to those contacts to help them establish a “beautification day.” The Director will work closely as a liaison between the Co-Chairs and the Communications committees and these schools’ contacts.
Communications
VP Communications takes responsibility for all public relations aspects of Tech Beautification Day. This includes overseeing the marketing efforts of the group toward campus, the surrounding community, faculty, staff and alumni. VP Communications is also responsible for overseeing the development of the web page. This position oversees the the Director of Publicity, the Director of Campus Involvement, and the Director of Technology to ensure the communication is effective and well received.
The Director of Publicity promotes Tech Beautification Day to the Georgia Tech campus. He/she will develop a marketing campaign and strategy to target student organizations as well as individual volunteers. Creativity is essential, and experience with design programs like Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop is a plus.
Director of Campus Involvement
The Directors of Campus Involvement will develop creative approaches to increase the awareness and participation of faculty, staff, and alumni in Tech Beautification Day. They will be in constant contact with the Alumni Association, Faculty Senate, and other such organizations. The ideal candidate would have great enthusiasm and confidence in their communication skills in relation to taking to Alumni and Faculty. This position offers great networking opportunities with Georgia Tech staff and faculty members and is crucial to spreading our mission of uniting students with alumni and faculty for this day of service.
The Director of Technology is an integral part of the Tech Beautification Day Communications team. As our primary source of information for both corporate sponsors and participants, the website projects a professional yet accessible impression of Tech Beautification Day. He/she need to be familiar with website programming (PHP) and be able to make updates to the website on a weekly basis. Also, he/she will be responsible for streamlining our Check-in process with an online system through our website.
Logistics
VP of Logistics is in charge of making Tech Beautification Day fun! He/she will work on morning and afternoon programming, including having breakfast and welcome activities and a fun afternoon of celebrating with lunch for the participants. VP of Logistics will coordinate with the Hands On Atlanta personnel to bring volunteers from other National Youth Service Day projects of the Atlanta area to Georgia Tech’s campus for the official afternoon celebration. VP Celebrations will oversee the Director of Morning Receptions and Director of Afternoon Celebrations.
Director of Event Coordination
The Director of Event Coordination will be responsible for planning and coordination of the event itself. This will include reserving campus space, rain plans, day of flows and any other logistical aspects necessary for a successful event. He/she will work closely with Projects and Morning Receptions and Afternoon Celebrations to ensure everything flows as smoothly as possible.
Director of Morning Receptions
The Director of Morning Receptions will be responsible for ensuring that participants are wide awake, alert, and ready to begin their day of working with Tech Beautification Day! He/she will organize a light breakfast and entertainment for the participants before the service projects begin.
Director of Afternooon Celebrations
Tech Beautification Day’s partnership with Hands on Atlanta gives us the opportunity to host the main afternoon celebration for National Youth Service Day. As this will involve youth volunteers from dozens of service projects across the Atlanta area, the Director of Afternoon Celebrations will coordinate efforts with Hands on Atlanta to plan entertainment, food, speakers, and anything else that helps us recognize our volunteers and thank them for a job well done!
Projects
The VP of Projects is ultimately responsible for all things relating to project development. He/she will work with Georgia Tech and community leaders in planning and executing appropriate projects for Tech Beautification Day volunteers. The VP is also responsible for overseeing the recruitment and training of Project Coordinators. VP of Projects will be overseeing the Director of Community Projects, Director of Greek Projects, and the Director of Project Coordinators.
Director of Community Projects
The Director of Community Projects is responsible for identifying and organizing projects that are appropriate for Tech Beautification Day volunteers on and around Georgia Tech’s campus. They will be working extensively with Georgia Tech Facilities to find projects for Tech Beautification Day and coordinate day-of logistics.
The Director of Greek Projects will work closely with as many Greek houses as possible on campus to develop a relationship and establish specific lists and goals for each house to accomplish to “beautify” their property and surrounding areas. This person should be Greek and familiar with a variety of Greek fraternities and sororities.
Director of Project Coordinators
For Tech Beautification Day, we will have approximately 70-100 Project Coordinators to lead the volunteers in their service projects. The Directors of Project Coordinators will be in charge of recruiting, contacting, and training the Project Coordinators (PCs) throughout the year before our event occurs. They will work with the Directors of Project Development to appropriately assign PCs to projects that match their skills and interests, and they prepare the project coordinators to effectively lead their project groups for the actual event.
