TBD2010: Saturday, April 17th

Tech Beautification Day (TBD) was started in 1998 as a day of service where students could give back to their campus through a combination of general cleanup, landscaping, and bringing together the Georgia Tech Community as a whole. Since then, TBD has grown immensely in terms of volunteer numbers and variety of projects. We are now celebrating the twelfth year anniversary of this community service event held each spring on Georgia Tech's campus.

With each year TBD continues to grow in its number of volunteers and impact. 2009 saw a 100% increase in the number of volunteers from 2008. By teaming up to clean up, we expect to have about 1500 volunteers this year! Volunteers were spread over 70 different projects. Volunteers not only beautified the Tech campus, but its surrounding community as well.

Greek Initiative:

Tech Beautification Day successfully engineered the Greek Initiative in 2009 to motivate the Greek community to take pride in their property as an important part of the Tech campus. Each house was able to submit project ideas and their supplies needs. Thanks to the support of our 2009 sponsors and the support of the Interfraternal Council and the Panhellenic Council, houses were able to complete such projects as planting flowers, painting, spreading fresh pinestraw and mulch and laying grass seed. The Greek Initiative was well received by all campus leaders and is expected to continue to grow each year.
